Ahlsell aims to be an industry leader when it comes to the environment. Environmental questions are therefore crucial in all operation and decision-making levels. Environmental work must be based on the employees’ knowledge, insight and commitment.

Ahlsell affects the environment primarily through its choice of products and transportation of products and the operations of the Group’s central warehouse.

Therefore Ahlsell work hard to:
■ Secure the handling of chemical products.
■ Optimize transport efficiency and continuously measure the degree of use and environmental impact together with the company’s main transport companies.
■ Work to improve energy utilization, measured as electricity consumption in relation to delivered volumes.
■ Increased degree of waste recycling.
■ Use exercises and training programs to prevent situations that may lead to emissions of pollutants.
■ Use training programs to increase knowledge about products’ impact on the
environment.

Certification
Ahlsell’s logistics center, outlets, distribution operation and purchasing in Sweden are environmentally certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and 9001. See the certificate here (pdf).
