The well-being of our employees, responsibilities of our suppliers and safety of our customers are critical to our business. And the safety of our products is equally important.
Safety for customers and employees alike
At Ahlsell we work systematically to ensure a safe and healthy working environment and we expect the same of our business partners. Our work in this area is based on the national legislation in the countries in which we operate.
Customers should be able to rely on the products they buy at Ahlsell being both safe to use and properly labelled. Every product in our range is compliant with the relevant laws and regulations, whilst, for purchases made in our online shop, digital safety data sheets will automatically be supplied. Ahlsell is constantly adding new products and developing services to make the workplace safer for both customers and employees. One example of how we work in Sweden is our service Klokt kemval (“Choosing Chemical Wisely”). With our knowledge of how chemical products are sometimes wrongly used or stored, we can help companies choose or reject a particular chemical. By choosing chemicals wisely, businesses can minimise both their environmental impact and any risks to the health of their employees.
Other important activities include the continual development of training in areas such as working at height, supplying protective personal safety equipment and producing health and safety information materials – all of which make it easier for Ahlsell's customers to make safe choices.
As much as we care about the health and safety of our customers and suppliers, we also care about the well-being of our employees. Ahlsell's employees should feel happy at work. As such, we conduct internal surveys in every country in which we operate with the aim of finding out how satisfied our employees are with their workplace. These surveys are then incorporated into an employee satisfaction index for the purposes of improving our development. For further information, see Employeeship.
